General Description The Victim Services & Youth Supervisor provides supportive leadership, supervision, and day-to-day oversight for the First Step Victim Services, Runaway and Homeless Youth, and Safe Harbour programs. This role ensures services are delivered in a safe, compassionate, trauma-informed, victim-centered, and developmentally appropriate manner consistent with agency values, program standards, and funding requirements. The Victim Services & Youth Supervisor supports staff growth and confidence through coaching, guidance, and collaborative problem-solving, while also providing clear direction and accountability to ensure high-quality, ethical, and effective services for victims, survivors, youth, and families served through these programs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides supportive supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to assigned staff within First Step Victim Services, Runaway and Homeless Youth, and Safe Harbour programming. Fosters a trauma-informed, accountable team culture grounded in ethical practice, empowerment, safety, professional boundaries, and respect for client and youth self-determination. Provides case consultation and practice guidance related to domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, human trafficking, homelessness, family conflict, crisis intervention, mental health or substance use concerns, and systems involvement. Supports staff in safety planning, advocacy, service planning, referrals, documentation, and systems navigation while ensuring services remain within program scope and funding requirements. Assists staff in determining appropriate responses in complex or high-risk situations, including when to respond, when to seek additional support, when to involve community partners, and when not to respond independently. Supports staff in balancing youth autonomy, caregiver involvement when appropriate, safety concerns, mandated reporting responsibilities, and the unique needs of runaway, homeless, trafficked, exploited, or at-risk youth. Reinforces role clarity, healthy boundaries, confidentiality, informed consent, ethical documentation, and safe practice standards across all programs. Monitors documentation, case records, and data entry for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, confidentiality, and alignment with program standards, reporting requirements, audits, and best practices. Identifies documentation trends, training needs, service gaps, or practice concerns and address them through supervision, coaching, and process improvement. Coordinates with program staff to plan, organize, attend, and support outreach activities, awareness events, trainings, and community engagement efforts, including agency-hosted events that may occur outside of regular business hours. Maintains collaborative relationships with community partners, including law enforcement, district attorney’s offices, courts, schools, child protective services, social services, mental health providers, housing providers, child advocacy centers, and other agencies serving victims, survivors, youth, and families. Represents the programs and agency in community meetings, coalitions, multidisciplinary collaborations, trainings, outreach events, and awareness activities as appropriate. Provides program insight, service data, and outcome information to support reporting, funding requirements, program planning, quality improvement, and sustainability efforts. Assists with day-to-day program operations, including scheduling, coverage planning, workflow coordination, service continuity, hiring, onboarding, training, and support during staffing changes or increased service demand. Participates in the agency’s 24/7 on-call hotline rotation as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned to support agency and program needs. Ensures Schuyler Office compliance with CCDOR and CCCS policies and procedures. Assists in the recruitment of Schuyler County CCCS Council members (with the Executive Director) and Agency volunteers (with Katie Rhodes), and provide other community outreach efforts. Participates as a member of the CCCS senior leadership team. Completes other duties as assigned. Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. Requirements Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field preferred Credentials: Valid New York State driver’s license and driving record acceptable to agency insurance standards. Experience: At least one year of experience in victim services, youth services, crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, homelessness services, trafficking response, or related human services work preferred. Prior supervisory, leadership, mentoring, or program oversight experience preferred. Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma, violence, exploitation, housing instability, mental health concerns, and/or systems involvement strongly preferred. A combination of relevant education, training, experience, and demonstrated competency in victim services, youth services, crisis response, advocacy, or related human services work may be considered. Competencies: Strong understanding of trauma-informed, victim-centered, and youth-focused practices. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain professional boundaries, and respond effectively in complex or high-pressure situations. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to support staff development, collaboration, and ethical service delivery. Ability to balance accountability, empathy, and safety while working with clients, youth, staff, and community partners. Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all client, employee, and agency information. Ability to foster teamwork and maintain a respectful, supportive, and professional work environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively in fast-paced or high-pressure situations. Demonstrated ethical practice and sound professional judgement. Commitment to trauma-informed, victim-centered, youth-focused, and culturally responsive practices. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Understanding mandated reporting requirements and ability to follow all required procedures and agency protocols. Ability to maintain professional boundaries while supporting clients, youth, staff, and community partnerships. Willingness to participate in the program’s 24/7 crisis hotline rotation as assigned. Willingness to participate in outreach activities, community events, trainings, and awareness efforts, including occasional evenings, weekend, and out-of-area commitments.
