Overview We are looking for dedicated and hard‑working Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in the medical department at the Cambria County Jail located in Ebensburg, PA. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care and perform duties under supervision of an RN. Current Openings Per diem Part time day shift Full time mixture of day and evening shifts Job Responsibilities The Licensed Practical Nurse will primarily be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care while ensuring the proper flow of relevant information is communicated to appropriate personnel. Other responsibilities include: Maintaining accurate records of all controlled substances, narcotics and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws Conducting sick call for inmate/patients and providing treatment of illnesses and injuries, defined by written protocol and approved by PCM Medical Director Observing, reporting, and documenting symptoms, reactions and progress of inmates/patients and participating in the formulation of the plan of care Recording, retrieving and filing medical information in the inmate/patient medical record This position provides a 2‑week orientation period where you will be trained on the job and shadow the nursing staff. Requirements The Licensed Practical Nurse is a fast‑paced position and requires the ability to multi‑task and possess strong patient assessment skills. The candidate must be licensed to practice nursing in the state where the facility is located.
