The Kitchenhand is responsible for all washing and cleaning duties, assisting with inventory and storing ingredients, as well as assisting the cook with food preparation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the order and cleanliness of the kitchens facilities up to government and company sanitation standards
• Clean all kitchen surfaces sweep and mop kitchen floor, put away dishes, pots, pans, organize food, clean out freezers and remove trash
• Ensure all dishes are adequately sanitized by maintaining required water temperature and chemical levels
• Wash and dry dishes, either by hand or using dishwasher, as well as polish silver
• Assist cook with food preparation including but not limited to organizing refrigerator and freezer, chopping vegetables, washing fruit, defrosting meat, prepping sauces and marinades
• Prepare full dishes such as salads per direction of supervisor
• Available to work overtime when required
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• Customer service experience preferred
• Previous restaurant experience a plus
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, rotate, reach
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
