Account Representative

If you are or could be passionate about the horticultural industry and enjoy helping customers build their business and help them make improvements, this is a great opportunity for you! As the Account Rep for the Commercial side of the business you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong professional relationships. You will also assist customers with new orders and quotes, advises of status of orders in process, and furnishes information on new products. Courteously and promptly resolve customer questions and problems or properly refers them to appropriate personnel. Complete related records, reports, and documentation.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

• Assumes responsibility for the accurate entry of customer orders.
• Receives orders by phone, e-mail and EDI.
• Processes orders and quotes, enters into computer and follows production and dropship guidelines.
• Acknowledges orders. Verifies pricing, discounts, billing and shipping addresses, credit status, and informs customers of any problems. Notifies customers of product backorders and anticipated availability.
• Researches and resolves problems with orders.
• Prioritize work and manage workload to ensure all orders are processed on time.
• Assumes responsibility for effectively performing miscellaneous customer service functions.
• Sets up and processes new customers. Sends literature and/or price lists.
• Processes customer returns. Determines nature and reason for return and assesses whether product is returnable. Corrects and reships incorrect orders once approved. Processes related customer paperwork and approved RMA credits.
• Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining professional working relations with customers.
• Conducts regular sales calls to develop customer relationships and follow up on leads.
• Provide customers with the highest standard of customer service through follow up contact and post-sale consultation.
• Resolves questions, requests, and problems promptly and courteously.
• Keeps customers informed of Company policies, procedures, and status of their orders and accounts.
• Assists and supports area personnel as needed.
• Coordinates with the Accounting Department regarding customer credit status.
• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
• Attends and participates in meetings as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of college and/or 2+ years of customer service experience.
• Experience with B-to-B sales with a background/understanding of the construction techniques is a plus.
• Enthusiastic and confident communicator with a great phone personality and active listening skills.
• Exceptional technical problem solving skills and the ability to influence others.
• Demonstrated ability to make quick decisions in an environment where there are multiple priorities and requests.
• Self-starter, self-motivated and consistently performs at a high level.
• Excellent team player with a positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile!
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow-through and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Business math proficiency for purposes of pricing, margin analysis, and quotations.

High level of proficiency in Outlook, Excel Microsoft Office.
