Shift Supervisor

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Shift Supervisor position in the Global Coating Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will supervise, train, motivate, and mentor approximately 20-40 production employees within the Galvanizing facility. Additionally, you will:

1. Implement and assign work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and equipment
2. Defines expected production standards and monitors performance standards of assigned personnel
3. Observe assigned personnel to ensure the proper operation of assigned equipment
4. Ensure inspection checks and quality assurance are occurring to produce high quality products
5. Promote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages suggestions for operational improvement
6. Administer and support company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
7. Train new employees about divisional and organizational activities and safety policies and procedures

What It Takes

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from a tech school or two years of college
• Two years of experience in a supervisory or management position
• The ability to recognize hazardous substances and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess:

• Five years of experience in a supervisory or management position
• A proven record of supervisory experience and must have strong leadership
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives
• The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
• The ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions and percentages, and product dimensions
• A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
