Scientist II - R&D Microbiology (Solutions Assurance)

Waters Advanced Diagnostic seeks a Scientist II in Microbiology for R&D Solutions Assurance. The role involves developing and validating clinical diagnostic solutions across integrated platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance patient care.
Responsibilities
- Apply clinical microbiology expertise to ensure products meet real-world customer needs
- Design and execute laboratory experiments with minimal oversight for product development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs teams
- Author and review technical documentation including validation protocols
- Support troubleshooting efforts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, or related field
- Minimum 2 years hands-on clinical microbiology laboratory experience in bacteriology
- Strong laboratory skills including experimental design, data analysis, troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of clinical microbiology principles and laboratory practices
- Proficiency with standard software tools such as Excel, Word, databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with diagnostic platforms (BACTEC, Kiestra, COR, Phoenix) is a strong plus
