Communicates with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians about student needs (e.g., ARD paperwork, IEPs, BIPs, and general progress). Prepare documents and attend ARD/IEP meetings for students eligible for special education. Complete local, state, and federal paperwork required for program participation. Develop instructional programs for eligible students to achieve mastery of the essential knowledge and skills. Collaborate with regular education teachers and related service staff to develop PLAAFP and annual goals/objectives for IEPs and to assist in providing an appropriate education for eligible students. Administer criterion referenced testing. Keep current and be willing to apply state‑of‑the‑art educational practices. Work collaboratively with general education teachers and administrators to oversee paraprofessional responsibilities, including training in data collection and implementation of instructional strategies. Collect and maintain data related to student progress. Report progress on IEP goals/objectives at the conclusion of each grading period. Provide appropriate behavior management techniques for eligible students. Complete State Assessment requirements for eligible students. Communicate regularly with general education staff and parents/guardians regarding student progress, needs, and concerns. Implement federal, state, and district guidelines regarding supports in the least restrictive environment. Maintain confidential student records. Attend district required and job‑specific training and staff development (e.g., training on Autism, content‑specific trainings, structured settings). Other SHARS duties as assigned. Provide personal care as identified in applicable student IEPs. Equipment Used Personal computer, copier, printer, calculator, laminator, fax machine. Familiar with wheelchairs, wheelchair lifts, restraints, ramps, locks, radio communication equipment, video monitoring equipment, and SMART Board.
