# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry – Texas Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Decatur, Texas

Schedule: Day and night shifts available; weekend shifts required; no on-call Highlights: - 60-bed medical surgical telemetry unit across two floors with 5:1 to 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratios- Diverse case mix including abdominal procedures (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, colectomy), bariatric surgery (gastric sleeve), orthopedic procedures (total joint replacements, trauma repairs), cardiac catheterizations, and diagnostic procedures- Remote telemetry monitoring with modern equipment including capnography, Alaris IV pumps, and glucometers- Alterra (Allscripts) EMR system- Collaborative team environment with charge nurses, RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries- Mandatory float opportunities to inpatient rehab, ED, and PCU as needed (assignments appropriate to skill level and scope) Requirements: - Active Texas RN license or compact state license- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required- Medical surgical nursing experience required- Telemetry experience required- Preferred skills: Cardiac rhythm recognition, IV insertion, and strong time management abilities Why It's a Great Opportunity: This position offers the chance to work within a well-established medical surgical telemetry unit that values teamwork, positivity, and flexibility.
