Diesel Mechanic Class B Technician (3-4 Day Work Week)

Position Details Salary: $31.78 - $41.33 per hour depending on experience. Sign On Bonus: $2,500. Work week: 4 days. Schedule: Thursday–Saturday 5:30 pm – 5:30 am; Wednesday 11:30 pm – 5:30 am. Position Summary Perform preventive maintenance of medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and converter dolly. Work under minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with State and Federal trucking regulations. Communicate professionally with co-workers. Document work orders and keep current on repair/parts usage. Perform road call services as needed. Primary Responsibilities Complete preventive maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs for fleet diesel equipment. Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform necessary repairs. Ensure equipment licensing and registration prior to being roadworthy. Document work orders through online Enterprise Asset Management system. Install, replace, and repair onboard computers. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and use of hand and power tools. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. 2+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and A/C refrigeration.
