HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic

The HVAC/Refrigeration Technician provides skilled installation, maintenance and repair on heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration units in large office buildings, hospitals and multi-building complexes. Two years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems. Job Duties Performs preventive maintenance duties on air handling units, motors, exhaust fans, fan coil units, DX (Direct Expanse) units, PTAC (Package Terminal Air Conditioner) units, window units, RTU (Roof Top Units), cooling towers, and generators, totaling over 500 units. Repairs and maintains heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment in buildings or complexes requiring a total HVAC capacity of 20 tons or more. Performs other duties assigned by Foreman. Position-Specific Details Appointment Type: This vacancy will be filled by a new hire or by promotion of a current permanent status classified employee.
