Labor & Delivery RN (L&D) – Day Shift

Shift Information

• Primary Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Schedule: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years L&D RN experience required
• Must be experienced in:
  • Labor & Delivery
  • Postpartum care
  • Maternal/fetal monitoring and assessment
• Must be able to function independently in a fast-paced, patient- and family-centered care environment

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certification
• Active Kentucky RN License (required at time of submission)

EMR

• EPIC experience required

Core Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments per policy
• Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond to clinical changes
• Document and evaluate responses to clinical interventions
• Provide education to patients and families during labor, delivery, and postpartum phases
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care and discharge planning
• Delegate appropriately to licensed and unlicensed staff
• Participate in unit performance improvement and governance activities
• Promote safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective patient care
• Support mentorship, teamwork, and staff development
