Senior Oracle Database Administrator (TS/SCI w/CI Poly Required)

Job Title Senior Principal Oracle Database Administrator Location Chantilly, VA Position Summary While you’ll have access to other DBA staff, you’ll be expected to be a self‑starter and multitask while communicating effectively with the customer and Everfox management. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting medium‑to‑large‑scale Oracle databases. What You’ll Be Doing Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the RHEL8.x OS supporting Oracle Database software in physical and virtualized environments. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting pluggable and containerized Oracle19c Databases in physical and virtualized environments. Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Oracle RAC19c. Performing RHEL8.x and Oracle19c upgrades/patching. Periodically validating Oracle19c backup/recovery operations leveraging RMAN. Monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle database performance (with AWR reports, database views, etc). Providing on‑demand support for database‑related issues and, if need be, working with Oracle support to address unsolvable issues. Working with product support and development teams to address issues or bugs discovered in products running at a customer location. Working with onsite government, contractor, or subcontractor staff to resolve issues with onsite products as a first line of support. Reviewing, applying, and remediating security vulnerabilities or controls based on STIG guidance or scanning reports. Installing firmware updates on physical components such as HPE servers and HP SANs. Communicating daily with customers and Everfox management, providing detailed activity summaries and in‑depth trip reports where applicable. Other duties as assigned. Environment You’ll Be Supporting Primary and Secondary Oracle19c database RAC servers on physical hardware. Database Size: up to 1.5PB, with growth at 10TB per month. Things You Must Have to Apply Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or equivalent education and work experience. At least one DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT levelII (2) or higher. Ability to obtain required work authorizations under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations. 14+ years experience performing tasks including installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting RHEL8.x and Oracle19c environments, backup/recovery, performance monitoring, support, and security. Deep understanding of Oracle RDBMS, partitioning, text indexing, grid, ASM, RMAN, SQL, PL/SQL, RAC, and automation scripting. Knowledge of routing, switching, firewall rules, and TCP/UDP/SSH/FTP/SCP/ protocols. Experience creating, renewing, installing, and troubleshooting secure certificates. Server hardware installation, maintenance, and patching experience. Things That Would Be Nice to Have Experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GovCloud, or GoogleCloud. Experience with N‑Tier architecture and Java application servers. Oracle Certifications (OCA, OCP, OCM). Certifications from Cisco, McAfee, Microsoft, Oracle, RedHat, Symantec, or VMware.
