Pharmacy Technician

Licensed Pharmacy TechnicianWe are seeking a dedicated Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a closed-door facility dedicated to fulfilling and packaging medications for long-term care facilities. This role offers a consistent 40-hour workweek with the opportunity for a contract-to-hire arrangement. You will be working under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and medication fulfillment.ResponsibilitiesFill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.Assist in processing returned drugs and manage recycling or disposal as per procedures.Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them during low volume times.Package materials and products manually.Pull and pick medications from storage areas and prepack racks.Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that does not scan properly.Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish stock supplies as needed.Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsClear and active Ohio Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.High School diploma or equivalent.Ability to work at a moderate pace while maintaining accuracy.Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.Experience in medication picking, labeling, and scanning.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious pharmacy technician experience is preferred but not required.Pharmacy Technician certification (CPHT) is a plus.Experience in retail pharmacy, fulfillment, and prior authorization is advantageous.Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the day.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.Visual acuity to see and read fine prints, with specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a closed-door facility that focuses on packaging and fulfillment for long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes and hospices. The work environment is production-focused, requiring attention to detail in prescription preparation, medication picking, labeling, scanning, and packaging. The schedule includes Monday-Friday evening shifts, with rotating weekend responsibilities and potential overtime and holiday work.
