Registered Nurse (RN-CNI), Full-Time, First

UC Health is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Interventional Radiology department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The Interventional Radiology Nurse will support the Medical Center's Radiology care at the Level I Trauma Center, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures. The Nurse will provide pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post procedure care of patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.
  • Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
  • Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance to hospital policy and procedure.
  • Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others. Time and Attendance Policy. Supports effective use of staff and supplies.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Associates Degree, minimum required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred
  • Current OH RN License
  • Critical care or radiology experience preferred
  • Competent in radiation safety (must know principles and practice sterile technique and infection prevention)
