Per Diem Health Physics Specialist

Job Overview Assists the Radiation Safety Office staff in providing an effective broad‑scope radiation safety service to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. Conducts qualitative and quantitative measurements, analyzes data, and generates reports to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements. Essential Responsibilities Identify, collect, label, and test radiation protective apparel (RPA). Operate x‑ray machines at settings optimized for RPA testing. Document test results and update RPA follow‑up records, including photographs as appropriate. Coordinate RPA service with clinic staff. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree in science preferred. 0–1 year related work experience. Full‑time positions require a satisfactory background check meeting department, Medical Center, State, and Federal regulatory policies and standards. Experience with computer systems, including web‑based applications and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Customer Service: Resolve service issues promptly and respectfully. Physical Demands Medium work: May exert up to 50lb of force occasionally and up to 20lb of force frequently. Requires standing and moving throughout the shift. Pay Base hourly wage range: $28.85 – $40.87. Actual compensation may exceed the base rate based on factors such as seniority, education, training, certifications, location, responsibilities, shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other applicable factors.
