Overview Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties. The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state‑of‑the‑art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multi‑room surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500‑square‑foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians and space for visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area. Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics and a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department, as well as an award‑winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers. The six‑bed Critical Care Unit, equipped with state‑of‑the‑art cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, cares for patients requiring critical‑care intervention for acute or potentially life‑threatening ailments and surgical recoveries in private rooms. Families receive compassion and condition updates during difficult situations. The nursing staff strives to provide the highest quality care through ongoing education and training. Job Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment; educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home‑care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team, ensuring communication across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care; assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care. Acts in a safety‑sensitive capacity, maintaining a constant state of alertness and working safely.
