Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused care tailored to the specific needs of the department, adhering to the standards and scope of practice relevant to the state and specialty. Working collaboratively with medical professionals and other members of the healthcare team, the RN offers personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, utilizing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’s vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to overall departmental success.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer procedures, monitoring, and other tasks as directed by medical providers.
• Document care delivery in patient medical records promptly and accurately.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care, ensuring clarity by simplifying complex medical terms.
• Provide guidance on non-medical follow-up measures, including healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.
• Implement evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives to surpass quality benchmarks and enhance patient care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, assess, customize, and deliver a holistic treatment plan that fosters recovery.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma.
• No travel is required for this position.
• No prior experience is necessary.

This role is situated within a full-service, 150+ bed acute care hospital and emergency room, located in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas.
