Role requirements

Seniority - 5+ years of experience in backend/platform/infrastructure engineering

Work experience

Built and owned internal platform systems or developer tooling at high-​growth startups (Stripe,​ Ramp,​ Rippling-​tier)

Experience scaling systems through rapid company growth or M&A

Worked in regulated industries (fintech,​ healthcare,​ finance)

Hard skills

Strong backend systems design (APIs,​ data stores,​ pipelines)

Cloud infrastructure,​ container orchestration,​ and deployment automation

Sandboxing,​ isolation,​ and secure code execution environments

Data warehousing and high-​performance query optimization

Experience building or integrating AI/LLM agent infrastructure

Traits to avoid

Contractor / consultant experience

Stayed for a long time without any promotions/progressions in any single role

About this role

As a Member of Technical Staff focused on Platform, you'll own the foundation everything else runs on — the infrastructure, backend systems, and developer experience that let a 12-person team ship agents into a regulated, high-stakes wealth management domain without slowing down. Agents are the primary users of the system of record, operating at scale across every client, all the time. That puts unusual demands on the platform — reliability, cost, and performance aren't afterthoughts, they're the product. You'll build core infrastructure and backend systems, safe execution environments for AI agents, developer tooling, and performance/cost optimization as Arca scales across multiple acquisitions this year.
