EXFO Tester Data Center Technician

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• Preferred qualifications include FOA, BICSI, or CFOT certifications.
• Preferred experience includes structured cabling systems, fusion splicing, data center deployments, hyperscale environments, and live production environments.
• OSHA 10/30 certification is preferred.
• Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work on ladders and in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and other nonstandard hours as needed.

• We perform fiber optic testing and certification using EXFO equipment, including OTDR, IL/RL, fiber characterization, and MPO testing.
• We read and interpret fiber optic schematics, splice diagrams, and network drawings.
• We troubleshoot fiber connectivity and performance issues in live data center environments.
• We document and maintain accurate test results, reports, and as-built records.
• We ensure testing meets customer specifications and industry standards.
• We support fiber installation, commissioning, and turn-up activities.
• We coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians to keep projects on schedule.
• We follow site safety procedures, data center protocols, and customer requirements.
• We maintain and calibrate testing equipment and tools.
• We provide technical support during maintenance windows and critical infrastructure upgrades.
• We travel frequently to customer sites and data centers, including overnight and extended assignments as needed.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented EXFO Tester / Data Center Technician to support fiber optic testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting in mission-critical data center environments. This full-time role is based in indoor and occasional outdoor environments across data centers, construction sites, and telecommunications facilities. The position includes day shift scheduling, with night work as needed, overtime opportunities, and weekend work based on project schedules. Travel is a major part of the role, with assignments across regional and national locations and potential travel up to 75-100% depending on project demands.
