Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred. License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: - 2 years of operating room experience. - Travel experience preferred. - Patient ratio experience of 1:1. - Charge experience of 2 years preferred. - Charting system experience required. Description: This position involves working in the operating room with a schedule of 5 shifts per week, each lasting 8 hours. The role requires 1-2 nights of call per week and 1-2 weekends of call per month, with possible holiday call. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of operating room experience. Travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Active BLS certification is required. The applicant must be willing to adhere to a 60-mile radius rule, as locals are not eligible. The unit provides care for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily surgical census includes approximately 30 cases. Essential skills include lobe resection, lung resection, thoracotomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and various orthopedic procedures. The candidate should be knowledgeable in fire safety, infection control, and universal protocol procedures. Participation in interdisciplinary support activities is part of the job requirements. Call requirements include 2 weekdays per week and 1 weekend per month. A supervisory reference is required for application submission.
