Health System Specialist

Duties

Advise wing, base, and leadership on Aerospace Medicine Standards topics such as medical standard issues, required training, deployment processing, and force health programs.

Establish metric and analysis systems to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and regulatory compliance of medical standards activities.

Serve as the liaison between squadron/unit commanders, supervisors, and health care providers concerning medical clearances.

Apply medical standards to determine medical qualifications of active duty, Air National Guard (ANG), Air Force Reserve (AFR), and eligible civilian government employees.

Manage the Medical Treatment Facility's overseas clearance program for active-duty personnel scheduled to relocate to overseas locations.

Conduct quality reviews of Duty Limiting Conditions, physical examinations, and clearances.

Assist Primary Care Manager and Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer with members requiring Medical Evaluation Board action.

Engage with customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policies and procedures, and resolve issues that arise.
