Entry Level Staff Accountant

We have been retained by a well established construction products manufacturing firm that is seeking a Staff Accountant to handle the Accounts Receivables, invoicing and billing for a well established firm located in the south western suburbs of Chicago. This Staff Accountant role is perfect for an entry level finance or accounting college graduate who wants to get their start and gain valuable experience. The team boasts a stable, work friendly culture and many employees have been with the firm for quite some time and there is a history of promotions. $55,000 to $62,000 per year plus bonus plus profit share

• Stability with firm, company has long term contracts with their clients
• Average week is 36 hours, pays over time during close week if worked over 40 hours.
• Good working environment, CFO stated "they don't take work too seriously/balance with life"
• Several examples of people moving up in the organization: Accounting Manager started off as a clerk and promoted
• CFO been on board for 10 years
• 3 benefit plans to choose from
• Profit sharing plan that pays approximately 10% based on your compensation
• 401K plan: $.25 to your dollar contributed on first 4%
• Bonus Plan - discretionary but has paid historically in the $3 to 4K range yearly

• Entry level role someone directly out of college
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
• Soft skills important and ability to work around distractions, stay focused
• Will be making calls to customers for collection calls, but very limited most customers paying on time
• Opening mail, responding to requests
• Data entry of invoices into their system
• The Staff Accountant will be entering vendor invoices on a weekly basis
• AR side will include approximately 50 customers with multiple line items and will apply payments to various projects
