Lost Time Incident Rate Near Miss Reporting Participation Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor Position Summary The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Supervisor is responsible for leading and promoting a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance throughout the manufacturing facility. This position partners with all departments to ensure a safe working environment while supporting operational excellence, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. The EHS Supervisor develops, implements, and maintains programs that protect employees, company assets, and the environment while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Essential Responsibilities Lead and promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and leadership. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and eliminate hazards. Lead investigations for injuries, near misses, property damage, and environmental incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. Track, trend, and report key EHS performance indicators (KPIs) to plant leadership. Facilitate safety committee meetings and follow up on action items. Coordinate new hire orientation and ongoing EHS training for all employees. Maintain OSHA logs, environmental records, permits, and regulatory documentation. Oversee contractor safety and ensure compliance with company safety standards. Manage emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, fire prevention, and first aid programs. Support continuous improvement initiatives by integrating safety into operational processes. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, and Maintenance to improve workplace safety and ergonomics. Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, confined space, and other critical safety programs. Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, spill prevention, stormwater, hazardous materials, and recycling programs. Serve as the facility subject matter expert for EHS compliance and regulatory inspections. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Three to five years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations. Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions. Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 30‑Hour Certification. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience. Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
