Job Title: Part Time Family Assistant with Meal Prep Support — Dallas, TX

Location : Dallas, Texas 75214 (Lakewood Area)

Employment Type: Part-time, 20–25 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed)

Schedule:

• Flexible weekday daytime hours starting after 9:30 am and ending before 5:00pm
• Candidate must be able to accommodate 4-5 more frequent/shorter shifts per week vs. longer shifts less days per week
• Some flexibility for the right candidate

Compensation: $35–$45 per hour, commensurate with experience

Requirements

• Maintain a smoke-free environment
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Reliable personal transportation (mileage reimbursement provided for job-related driving)
• Candidates are required to be up to date on recommended vaccinations in line with American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines (including MMR, Tdap, and annual influenza), subject to applicable legal accommodations
• Must be comfortable with a large, friendly, calm dog (approximately 70 lbs)

About Our Family

We are a busy, warm, and active household based in the Lakewood area of Dallas. Our home runs at a high pace with multiple aspects always in motion: work, school, sports, travel, home projects, and everything in between. We love our home and love being in it together, but with everything we have going on the day-to-day upkeep often gets pushed to the back burner. We have two active teenage boys in school, a sweet and calm black lab who sheds constantly, and a household that thrives when things are running smoothly behind the scenes.

We already have a weekly cleaning crew and a yard team in place, so this role is not about deep-cleaning from scratch. It is about the steady, ongoing maintenance and support that keeps a full, busy home feeling cared for and under control. We are looking for someone who will become a trusted, steady presence in our home by supporting our rhythms and help us get back more quality time with our family.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The right person for this role is observant, self-directed, and emotionally intelligent. You take direction well and are genuinely interested in learning how our home runs. You are also confident and eager to grow into fully owning several of our home systems over time. After a few months, you will be walking in and already knowing what needs attention without being told. You will notice the "small things" like paper towels being almost out, the dog hair that has built up on the couch, or that the laundry pile has grown, and you handle the problems before we even have the chance to notice them. You approach the home as if it were your own while always respecting our preferences and systems.

You are comfortable with light, efficient communication. You are proactive and are able to receive a quick text and figure out how to handle it from there on your own. You know how to read a room — if someone is heads-down and busy, you go about your work without needing to check in, and are intentional for saving your questions and conversations for the right moments. You are warm and easy to be around, but you do not need to be entertained or directed every step of the way. You are professional, trustworthy, and take real pride in the work you do.

Key Responsibilities

Laundry & Linens

• Fully own the family's laundry: wash, fold, and put away for all household members
• Treat stains as needed
• Manages linen rotation: swap out sheets (in coordination with the cleaning crew), launder towels, duvets, and bathroom rugs
• Drop-off and pick-up dry cleaning as needed
• Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked

Household Organization & Maintenance

• Reset the home daily after the morning rush (e.g. clear breakfast food and dishes, etc.)
• Tidy high-traffic areas daily: wipe surfaces, manage dishes, Swiffer/vacuum the first floor and couches for dog hair, take out trash, etc.)
• Prep the home for weekly cleaning service
• Care for indoor plants
• Assist with seasonal decor swaps as directed and coordinate donation drop-offs
• Assist with preparation for hosting events, holidays, and guests as requested
• Unpack after travel: unload bags, launder clothes, and return items to their proper place
• Perform light maintenance tasks as directed, including changing batteries, light bulbs, AC filters, and smoke detector batteries
• Keep shared spaces tidy and functional, including bonus room and garage/sports equipment areas
• Manage organizational projects as designed and directed by the family (closets, storage areas, etc.)

Meal Support

• Prepare approximately 3 dinners per week, ranging from full execution (oven-ready or crockpot meals) to ingredient prep to be cooked later
• Transition with time from preparing meals with provided recipes to owning the meal planning process, taking the family calendar into account
• Process and prep produce to be pre-washed, chopped, and ready to use
• Batch prep breakfast items (overnight oats, egg bites) for parents a few days at a time
• Batch prep proteins for school lunches
• Pick up grocery orders
• Own kitchen clean-up and general maintenance, including occasional deep cleans of the refrigerator as needed

Inventory & Errands

• Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies to correct locations
• Manage a running household supply list, noticing low-inventory items and adding them proactively
• Contribute to shared household orders (i.e. Amazon, Costco) initially, transitioning to placing orders independently with time
• Handle returns, dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up, storage unit runs, occasional gift shopping, and other miscellaneous errands as requested
• Take the family vehicle for maintenance or detailing as requested
• Handle Mail and packages: unpack boxes, distribute items, and breakdown/recycle cardboard

Pet Care

• Feed and walk dog on occasion
• Transport dog to and from grooming and vet appointments (scheduling handled by the family)
• Maintain pet supply inventory and flag when food or supplies need restocking

Vendor & Property Oversight

• Serve as an on-site presence when cleaners, contractors, or landscapers are working
• Coordinate repairs by contacting provided list of vendors as directed
• Perform seasonal maintenance tasks as directed (e.g., replacing AC filters)
• Manage outdoor spaces: sweep front patio and wipe down outdoor furniture as needed
