The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing the collective action work in this issue area, with a focus on uniting member organizations to address shared challenges that require coordinated, multi-organizational solutions. This role involves end-to-end management of collective action initiatives, from ideation to design, funding, and execution, with a strong emphasis on producing real change in the field. The VP will also be the primary point of contact for the CEOs of the member organizations, fostering deep relationships, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention within the Alliance community. Applicants must have a minimum of 15 years' of senior leadership experience, with a preference for those with a background that includes both deep K-12 expertise and nonprofit operating experience. The role requires an operator and executor mindset, with a proven track record of individual contribution and executive-level relationship building. The ideal candidate will be a practitioner-leader, with the ability to identify and design collective action initiatives that lead to measurable impact. Strongly preferred qualifications include experience at the intersection of K-12 systems and national nonprofit organizations, C-suite or VP-level tenure at a national nonprofit, and a well-established professional network in the education and youth development sectors. The role demands a mission-driven, collaborative individual who is comfortable in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and is adept at building structure and momentum in real time.
