Role Description The Health Safety Environment Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role located in Wilmington, NC. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs across construction and railroad project sites, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards, and recommending corrective actions. The coordinator develops and delivers safety training, maintains incident and compliance documentation, and supports incident investigations and root-cause analyses. The role also collaborates with project managers, supervisors, and crew members to promote a positive safety culture and continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with a strong understanding of regulatory standards and best practices. Experience in Workplace Safety and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures. Ability to design and deliver effective Safety Training programs for diverse site teams. Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in construction, heavy civil, railroad, or industrial environments is highly beneficial. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, CHST, or equivalent) and a working knowledge of federal and state safety regulations. Ability to work on-site, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and adapt to changing project needs.
