Job Summary
The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining food quality standards, supporting kitchen operations, and ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. The role assists with food preparation, inventory handling, and helps the kitchen team deliver high-quality food while maintaining operational and financial standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare ingredients and food items according to recipes and kitchen standards.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming food deliveries.
- Verify food quality, quantity, and vendor invoices.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
- Support food cost control and kitchen efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with additional kitchen duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Ability to follow recipes and food preparation standards.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and tools.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules based on business needs.
