Job Title: Echo Technician Profession: Echo Technician Specialty: Echo Technician Duration: 13 Shift: Day shift, every 3rd weekend call Hours per Shift: 07:00 AM - 04:30 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Associate Degree in Applied Science or related field Certifications: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Must be registered through ARDMS Registry. RDCS or CCI credentialed. Must-Have: Experience with stress testing and TEEs Description: This hybrid position requires experience as both an Ultrasound Technologist and Echo Technologist. The Ultrasound Technologist operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to demonstrate anatomical or physiological structures of the human body for diagnostic purposes. They produce quality images as directed by radiologists and physicians for the diagnosis or treatment of anatomic or physiologic disorders. The role requires knowledge of general and cross-sectional anatomy, technical factors, and basic computer skills. The technologist must function independently and work cooperatively in a teamwork-oriented atmosphere within the department. Exceptional care and customer satisfaction skills are essential. Responsibilities include performing general abdominal sonography, vascular sonography, OB/GYN sonography, and small parts sonography on all populations. Basic computer skills and knowledge of PACS are necessary for producing ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by physicians. The Echo Technologist coordinates and participates in a variety of duties involved in the operation of echocardiography equipment. The technologist obtains and records two-dimensional and M-mode graphic representations of the heart using high-frequency sound waves to assist in the diagnosis of cardiac malfunctions, malformations, and abnormalities. Effective interaction with patients and other health team members while maintaining professional values is required. A high level of knowledge and critical thinking skills is necessary for performing tests on various patient populations, specifically those with cardiac issues. The Echo Technologist performs adult echocardiography, including contrast and saline bubble studies, as well as exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography. Echocardiography is conducted according to established protocols and accreditation standards, ensuring high-quality results.
