Job Family:Operational Effectiveness ConsultingTravel Required:Up to 25%Clearance Required:NoneWhat You Will Do:As a Managing Consultant supporting a Department of War project supporting military community and quality of life programs, you will lead a team in planning, coordinating, and executing high-visibility outreach and training events for a government client. Your responsibilities will include:Event Planning & Execution: Support end-to-end planning of training sessions, directorate events, multi-day conferences, roundtables, and stakeholder engagements.Client Engagement & Requirements Gathering: Work directly with government stakeholders to clarify event objectives, collect requirements, document needs, and ensure all planning aligns with program priorities.Venue & Vendor Coordination: Liaise with hotels, conference centers, and other venues to negotiate rates, secure meeting space, request A/V packages, review contracts, and coordinate onsite logistics.Coordination with Guidehouse Procurement: Coordinate with Guidehouse procurement team to share client budgets, requirements, and potential vendors and events spaces such that Guidehouse procurement can negotiate rates and secure contracts.Logistics Management: Oversee room layouts, signage, registration, attendee tracking, scheduling, run-of-show documentation, materials preparation, shipping, and coordination with government and contractor partners.Onsite Event Support: Serve as the onsite logistics lead for key events; manage real-time issue resolution; coordinate with venue teams, government representatives, program managers, and support staff.Outreach & Communications Support: Assist with strategic communication efforts to promote events, share updates, distribute materials, and coordinate messaging across directorates.Post-Event Reporting: Conduct after-action reviews, summarize lessons learned, track issues, compile feedback, and support continuous improvement of event planning processes.Team Management: Manage, coach, mentor and train team members supporting client deliverySchedule and Resource Management: Manage project scope, budget, and schedule to support on-time, quality delivery. Client Relationship Management: Manage and maintain client relationships to support client satisfaction and delivery excellence.What You Will Need:Bachelor's degreeSEVEN (7) or more years of professional work experience supporting logistics, event planning, project coordination, or outreach activities.
