Senior Fraud AnalystThe Senior Fraud Analyst serves as the Bank's primary fraud subject matter expert and independently leads the day-to-day monitoring, investigation, prevention, and mitigation of fraud risk across business lines and delivery channels. This hands-on individual contributor owns complex fraud matters and helps advance the Bank's fraud processes, controls, technology, analytics, reporting, and education.The ideal candidate brings deep investigative and analytical experience, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to emerging fraud risk. This individual partners across the Bank to strengthen controls, support customers and employees, optimize fraud detection tools, and establish consistent, scalable fraud practices.As digital banking, payment systems, and fraud risks evolve, this role uses trend analysis, process improvement, employee education, and practical recommendations to strengthen fraud prevention capabilities and reduce loss.Key Responsibilities:Fraud Analytics & Strategic SupportAnalyze fraud trends, loss data, customer behavior, and emerging schemes to identify control gaps and recommend practical risk mitigation strategies.Develop and maintain fraud reporting, dashboards, metrics, and key risk indicators that provide clear insight into exposure, losses, recoveries, and control effectiveness.Conduct and support fraud risk assessments and translate findings into prioritized improvements to detection, monitoring, workflows, and operational controls.Provide informed recommendations on fraud risks affecting financial services, payment systems, digital banking channels, products, and customer experiences.Fraud Technology OwnershipServe as the primary business owner and subject matter expert for fraud detection and monitoring systems, including administration, testing, rule tuning, workflow design, optimization, and effectiveness reviews.Lead business participation in the implementation and enhancement of fraud prevention technology, rules, workflows, case management, and automation tools.Partner with vendors, Information Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders to resolve issues, improve detection capabilities, and increase operational efficiency.Program DevelopmentDevelop, document, and maintain fraud policies, procedures, standards, playbooks, escalation protocols, and investigation practices.Help establish consistent fraud intake, case management, escalation, loss tracking, recovery, reporting, and quality review processes.Identify opportunities to strengthen fraud governance, accountability, enterprise awareness, and coordination across business units.Represent fraud expertise on cross-functional initiatives involving payments, digital banking, products, operational risk, customer security, or process changes.Education & External RelationshipsServe as a trusted fraud resource for employees by providing timely guidance, consultation, training, and awareness resources.Develop and support customer education and fraud awareness materials in partnership with appropriate business areas.Build and maintain working relationships with peer financial institutions, industry groups, law enforcement agencies, vendors, and fraud prevention organizations to exchange information and stay current on emerging threats.Fraud Monitoring and OversightMonitor and investigate suspected fraud involving debit cards, ACH, wires, checks, mobile deposits, new accounts, identity theft, synthetic identities, account takeover, scams, and other channels or schemes.Review system alerts, reports, transactions, account activity, and supporting documentation to identify suspicious patterns, determine risk, and take timely action.Coordinate complex fraud cases from intake through resolution, including documentation, escalation, customer communication, internal coordination, recovery efforts, and referral to law enforcement or other external parties when appropriate.Administer the Bank's debit card dispute process and coordinate with cardholders, vendors, merchants, and other parties to support accurate and timely resolution.Take or recommend appropriate loss-mitigation actions, including account holds, access restrictions, transaction returns, indemnification requests, and other recovery methods in accordance with Bank procedures and applicable requirements.Provide responsive support to branches, the contact center, Operations, and other teams regarding fraud concerns, suspicious activity, case handling, and escalation.Prepare fraud loss, recovery, trend, key risk indicator, and case reporting for senior leadership and applicable committees.Evaluate fraud processes, controls, workflows, and customer experiences; recommend and help implement improvements that increase effectiveness, consistency, and efficiency.Serve as the Bank's primary point of coordination for significant fraud incidents, investigations, reporting, and escalation activities.What We're Looking For:The successful candidate will be:Experienced in independently managing complex fraud investigations and making sound, timely risk decisions.Naturally curious about emerging threats, scams, payment systems, technologies, and financial crime trends.Comfortable balancing hands-on casework with analytics, process development, technology ownership, and strategic recommendations.A self-directed problem solver who creates structure, takes ownership, and follows issues through resolution.Skilled at identifying patterns, connecting information, documenting conclusions, and communicating complex issues clearly.Able to build credibility and collaborate effectively with customers, frontline teams, leaders, vendors, law enforcement, and external partners.Committed to improving fraud controls, processes, technology, and customer protection through data-informed decisions.Preferred Qualifications:Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in fraud investigations, financial crimes, banking operations, risk management, or a related field.Demonstrated experience independently handling complex fraud cases and coordinating investigations across multiple stakeholders.Broad knowledge of deposit, ACH, check, card, wire, account takeover, identity theft, scam, and new account fraud.Experience administering, configuring, or optimizing fraud monitoring platforms, transaction monitoring systems, case management tools, or fraud analytics solutions.Experience with fraud recovery methods, including ACH and check returns, card disputes, indemnification requests, and law enforcement referrals.Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into clear operational and strategic recommendations.Strong understanding of payment systems, digital banking, card operations, fraud-related regulatory expectations, and customer protection practices.CAMS, CAFP, CFCS, CFE, or a similar professional certification preferred.
