This position supports the critical flow of grant, loan, and scholarship dollars while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies. The Associate Director works collaboratively with the Director of Financial Aid to uphold the mission and vision of Malone University and to support student success through effective financial aid counseling and operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Advises, schedules and maintains files for the First Time Traditional students including freshmen, transfer, international, online, readmit and College Credit Plus students Develops and implements advising policies in collaboration with admissions, university registrar and other stakeholders Assists in leading financial aid counseling services and workshops for prospective and current students Packages financial aid for new and returning students, including adjustments for changes in enrollment, residency, and employment status Manages scholarships and awards, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, academic standards, and athletic regulations Monitors Federal Work‑Study awards and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for continued aid eligibility Assists in ensuring compliance with Federal Student Aid, NCAA, and institutional policies; maintains current knowledge of legislative and regulatory changes Supports daily financial aid operations and system functionality Coordinates with the Director of Financial Aid to implement office initiatives and improve service delivery Provides accurate information and timely responses to students and families regarding financial assistance options Conducts interviews with students to obtain information necessary to determine aid eligibility and ensures required documentation is complete and compliant Assists in determining financial aid awards based on funds available, student need, and institutional guidelines Contributes to strategic planning and assessment efforts for the financial aid functional area in collaboration with the Director of Financial Aid and the Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing Assists in monitoring program outcomes and supports continuous improvement initiatives Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to understand/interpret academic requirements and academic options in all areas of study Knowledge of principles and practices used in academic advising Strong written and verbal communication skills Effective relational skills Commitment to diversity Ability to collaborate with a wide range of people Ability to effectively and efficiently solve problems Ability to work independently Ability to manage multiple projects Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality Discretion Professionalism Ability to plan, organize and execute Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, or related field Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in financial aid administration Working Conditions / Physical Demands Work is typically performed in a conventional office environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
