Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst — Waco, TX (Relocation assistance may be available)

A respected financial institution is looking for a Financial Analyst to join its finance team. You'll work closely with the CFO, Controller, and senior leadership to build the models, reports, and dashboards that drive strategic decisions, with real exposure to executive-level work.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reporting tools
• Manage budgeting and reporting software, including reports, models, and forecasting assumptions
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs to senior leadership
• Support the annual budget cycle and quarterly forecasting process
• Review month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger activity
• Analyze data from multiple sources to surface meaningful business insights
• Identify trends, variances, and performance drivers and communicate them clearly
• Recommend ways to automate reporting, streamline processes, and strengthen data integrity
• Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as needed

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
• 5-7+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or dashboard reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems and data queries
• Strong grasp of financial statements, modeling, and trend analysis
• Sharp analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and clear communication

Nice to have

• CPA license
• Experience with Cognos, Microsoft Query tools, general ledger systems, or S&P Capital IQ
• Background in credit analysis, bond accounting, or Asset/Liability Management
