Physician - Regional Division Chief, Vascular Surgery - Royal Oak

Role Overview

Corewell Health East (CHE) in Southeast Michigan seeks a nationally recognized physician leader to serve as the Regional Division Chief, Vascular Surgery, across seven campus facilities in the Detroit market. This position is responsible for executing the divisional strategy, vision, and clinical operations, promoting CHE as a premier institution for heart and vascular care, and leading a team of vascular surgeons, wound, and vein specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the divisional strategy and vision to advance quality, specialty service growth, and organizational initiatives including safety, inclusion, and accountability.
• Lead coordination with cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery service line leaders to ensure integrated planning and patient care support.
• Collaborate with regional, state, and national programs and centers to extend clinical excellence, research, and education in vascular surgery, including pan‑Michigan initiatives with Corewell Health West.
• Identify and drive opportunities to improve quality, grow specialty services, and achieve financial performance across the enterprise.
• Develop a roadmap for research platform growth and expansion of the ACGME Vascular Fellowship program.
• Align vascular surgery programs with system‑wide clinical service line strategy and Corewell Health’s overarching organizational strategy.
• Champion clinician well‑being, standardization of care, and value‑based care initiatives.
• Serve as a senior thought leader and primary strategic partner for the Heart & Vascular service line.
• Report to the Physician Executive of the Heart & Vascular service line.

Qualifications and Experience

• Board‑certified vascular surgeon with advanced endovascular and complex aortic experience.
• Prior physician leadership experience in vascular surgery required.
• Ability to obtain an unrestricted Michigan medical license and maintain a robust clinical practice in vascular surgery.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to work effectively with hospital and medical group leadership, employed and independent vascular surgeons.
• Strong business acumen, high emotional intelligence, consensus‑oriented approach, and respectful courage.
• Academic appointment eligible with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
