Infant and Toddler Assistant Caregiver

We are looking to hire more part-time caregivers to support our childcare program at The Makers Place™ that serves infants/toddler (12 weeks-2 years) while their parents work onsite in our coworking space upstairs. This role works closely with our Lead Caregivers and student interns to support our program. If qualified, caregivers can also help support our preschool program as a Teacher’s Aide.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Caregiver is supervised by the Lead Caregiver and Program Director and serves as a support role in our Mini Makers Studio at The Makers Place to complete the following responsibilities: Support the positive growth and development of children ages 12 weeks to 2 years old in a play-based setting through experiential learning Assist in basic caregiving responsibilities, including feeding, diapering, and putting children down for naps Ensure the safety of all children in our program Positively and professional communicate with parents and staff in both written and verbal forms Provide guidance to instructional staff to help resolve issues when necessary Participate in light housekeeping to sanitize and reset the space daily

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

At least 18 years of age Currently CPR/First Aid Certified (8-hour EMSA training) Clean LiveScan and Federal Background Check Complete all State-Required Hiring Paperwork (W4, TB clearance, immunizations, etc.) Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats and collaborate effectively in a professional environment Interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate warmth and empathy for adults and children Must be able to lift 25 pounds safely and climb stairs with ease

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Currently enrolled in or has completed courses in infant/child development at an accredited higher education institution Completed 8-hour Preventative Health and Nutrition training

COMPENSATION

This position is paid hourly commensurate with experience ($17.00-$17.50/hour), including paid time for training, staff meetings, and other engagement opportunities. SCHEDULE

Start Date: November 1, 2026 or later Weekly Shifts: Currently hiring for a 25 hpw part-time positions weekdays (Monday-Friday) 8:00am-1:00pm. Our operating hours are weekdays 7:00am-6:00pm. Weekly shifts will be determined based on current staff schedule and employee’s availability
