About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational management of the organization. The COO will be responsible for partnering with the executive team and operations staff to optimize systems, manage company operations, and support project teams through the full project delivery process. This includes providing a strategic, C-suite view of the company's size, structure, and performance, as well as owning estimating, project management, construction, and safety. The successful candidate will also be tasked with driving the expanded utilization of efficiency tools, standardizing company processes, and overseeing business development and client relations. Candidates for the COO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline, with advanced degrees being beneficial. A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in civil or heavy civil construction, including at least 5 years in an executive operations leadership role, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in safety leadership, process re-engineering, and resource allocation. Strategic proficiency, business development acumen, and strong leadership abilities are essential. Experience with HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob, as well as a background in technical project review, data analysis, and Microsoft Office proficiency, are also necessary. The role demands a hands-on approach, with a focus on talent development, and the ability to align operational goals with the company's long-term objectives.
