2nd Shift Assistant Production Manager – Meat Manufacturing Job Title: 2nd Shift Assistant Production Manager – Food Manufacturing (Meat & Protein) Compensation: $95,000 - $105,000 per year plus performance bonus. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Production Manager to lead 2nd shift operations in a USDA-regulated meat and protein manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with food manufacturing leadership experience who thrive in fast-paced production settings focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Position Summary: TheAssistant Production Managerwill assist with overseeng daily production activities, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations, food safety standards, and company quality expectations. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of food production equipment, and the ability to drive efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage production operations to meet quality, safety, and efficiency goals. Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety standards. Oversee and maintain food production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste. Monitor production schedules and adjust resources to meet customer demand. Train, coach, and develop production staff to build a high-performing team. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth plant operations. Maintain accurate production records and generate performance reports for leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred). Minimum 5+ years of supervisory experience in the food industry; experience in meat or protein manufacturing strongly preferred. In-depth knowledge of USDA regulations, food safety programs, and quality management systems. Strong understanding of food production equipment, maintenance processes, and plant operations. Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
