This position is located on a large state office campus in the Queens Village section of eastern Queens, near Union Turnpike and Winchester Boulevard. The location is convenient to Queens Village, Bellerose, Glen Oaks, Oakland Gardens, and communities in western Nassau County.

For drivers, the campus is approximately one-quarter mile west of the Union Turnpike exit from the Cross Island Parkway. It can also be reached from the Grand Central Parkway using the Winchester Boulevard/Alley Pond or Union Turnpike exits. Onsite parking is available.

For public transportation, the Q46 and Q48 buses travel along Union Turnpike, with service near Winchester Boulevard. The Union Turnpike corridor also connects toward Kew Gardens, Fresh Meadows, and other parts of central and eastern Queens.

What You Will Do

• Retrieve, move, and organize boxes of records based on project assignments.
• Review records using established retention schedules and project guidelines.
• Examine dates, document types, and other identifying information to distinguish between similar records.
• Sort and prepare records for the next stage of the retention or disposition process.
• Accurately track completed work and assigned boxes.
• Handle confidential records professionally and discreetly.
• Participate in daily check-ins regarding workload, progress, and questions.
• Work independently while participating in regular quality-control reviews.
• Follow all procedures related to records handling, confidentiality, and workplace safety.

 

Exciting Opportunity Details

• Rate: $20.00 per hour 
• Location: Onsite in Queens Village, Eastern Queens (11427), near Union Turnpike and Winchester Boulevard
• Length of Engagement: Approximately 9 months 
• Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week 
• Location: Onsite in Queens Village, Eastern Queens, near Union Turnpike and Winchester Boulevard 
• Other Details: Parking available; six openings; group training provided onsite
