Registered Nurse (RN) Step Down ICU / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

At Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, our Step Down ICU team cares for patients who require close monitoring and advanced nursing care as they transition from intensive care to recovery. We are seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. As a member of our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you'll care for complex patients, strengthen your critical care skills, and work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes.

As a Step Down ICU RN, you will provide specialized nursing care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and intervention than a traditional medical-surgical unit. Key responsibilities include:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, neurological status, and overall patient condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to physician orders and clinical protocols
• Manage and monitor specialized equipment and advanced monitoring systems
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond quickly to emergent situations
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation while promoting quality and patient safety initiatives
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families during critical stages of recovery

Hourly Range: $31.25 - $46.88

Eligible for evening, night, and weekend shift incentives based on company policies and applicable job codes. Additional details will be provided during the interview process.
