As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish-out a leading-edge chipmaking facility — a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success. The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Joining the Fab 62 team means contributing directly to one of the most strategically important construction efforts in the United States and helping deliver the infrastructure behind the next generation of microelectronics.Job SummaryIn this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for electrical engineering matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard electrical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team.Major ResponsibilitiesEvaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modificationsParticipates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplinesProvides technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standardsProvides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project executionPrepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposalsEducation and Experience RequirementsRequires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.Required Knowledge and SkillsExperience with medium to large material requisitions (Transformers, Switchgear, Substations, UPS Systems, Bulk Materials, etc).Knowledge of medium voltage systems (34.5kV / 13.8kV), low voltage systems (480 and 208/120V) which includes but not limited to; Switchgear, MCCs, Switchboard/Distribution Board, Lighting Panel Design.Knowledge of Power System One Lines, Schematics, and Connection Diagrams.Knowledge of electrical raceway design and layout that includes but not limited to; lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.Professional Registration License (P.E.) in Electrical Engineering discipline (Power), preferred.Engineer in Training certificatePrior experience as an Engineer on a medium-to-large-sized Industrial Project.Total Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
