Purchasing Assi stant: South Beloit , Illinois

Our customer in South Beloit, Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented  Purchasing A ssistant to join their team on 1st shift. This position plays a key role in supporting purchasing, inventory management, vendor communications, and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have prior purchasing experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities of the  Purchasing Assistant :

• Support the Purchasing Manager with the procurement of materials, parts, and supplies.
• Process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, order status, and delivery schedules.
• Serve as a liaison between vendors, project managers, production teams, and other departments.
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Enter and maintain purchasing, inventory, and production data within ERP/MRP systems.
• Complete stock requisitions and open internal production jobs for stocked parts.
• Assist with negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Learn and support small package shipping processes, including UPS, FedEx, and DHL shipments.
• Perform incoming material inspections and assist as a backup to stockroom operations.
• Support the sale and processing of customer spare-parts orders as needed.
• Maintain organized filing systems and purchasing documentation.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Purchasing Assistant   Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of purchasing or procurement-related experience.
• ERP/MRP system experience required.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365, Outlook, and PDF editing software.
• Experience with inventory control, materials management, and supply chain operations.
• Understanding of sourcing products and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience with UPS, FedEx, DHL, shipping, and receiving processes preferred.
• Strong typing and data-entry skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay for  Purchasing Assistant : Starting at $20-$22/hour.
