Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler safely moves raw materials and finished products using a sit-down forklift and other material handling equipment in a warehouse and production manufacturing environment. This role supports daily operations by moving large metal components, selecting and packaging orders, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory and basic metal cutting tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move raw materials and finished products throughout the warehouse and production areas.
• Use cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to safely move large pieces of metal.
• Select orders according to inventory plans and ensure all materials are packaged properly for shipment or storage.
• Load and unload products onto and from trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform cycle counts as needed to support accurate inventory control.
• Assist with material cutting on saws, including measuring and handling metal using tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while handling materials and operating equipment.
• Work collaboratively with production and driving staff to ensure timely movement of materials and finished goods.

Work Environment

New hires will begin in Bloomington for training and will transition to the Shakopee facility once it is ready. The shift runs from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment includes frequent use of sit-down forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and metal cutting saws, working with large metal pieces and finished products. Personal protective equipment is provided, including hard hat, safety glasses, vest, gloves, sleeves, and a voucher for steel-toe footwear.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

The pay range for this position is $38417.60 - $51979.20/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
