Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II/Relief Staff Leader provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. The Registered Nurse II / Relief Staff Leader (RSL) reports to the Nurse Manager. Under general supervision, the RN II/RSL provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families at the competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. This role delivers safe, high-quality nursing care and collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary health care team to achieve desired patient outcomes. When functioning in the Relief Staff Leader role, the RN II/RSL serves as a visible clinical and operational leader for the unit. The RSL supports real-time patient flow, staff coordination, safety oversight, and communication across the interdisciplinary team. The RSL is accountable for completing designated shift-based leadership responsibilities and supporting unit operations to promote safe, efficient, and effective care delivery. Entity

36 Work Shift Job Description Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through the application of care management principles. Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes. Demonstrates ability to function in a professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promotion of a healthy work environment and acceptance of personal responsibility for professional growth. Additional Job Description Minimum Training and Education : Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations : Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
