Experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Springfield, Illinois. This on-site RN opportunity is ideal for a maternity nurse who thrives in a fast-paced labor and delivery unit and is passionate about supporting patients through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090-$2,200
• Location: Springfield, Illinois
• Start Date: 8/3/2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 Nights (1845-0715)
• Setting: Acute care hospital Labor & Delivery / Family Maternity unit
• Charting System: Cerner
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Active Illinois RN license required at time of application
• Current ACLS certification
• Current BLS certification
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring required
• EFM interpretation skills and experience required
• Experience circulating C-sections preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Ability to float within scope as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and support safe delivery outcomes
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring as appropriate
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for cesarean sections
• Deliver postpartum and newborn care, including assessments, education, and discharge teaching
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and specialty drips within scope of practice
• Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies, including hemorrhage, hypertension, and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality patient care
• Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and compassionate care throughout the birth experience
