TWFG General Agency has an immediate opening for a Senior Claims Desk Adjuster at our corporate office based in The Woodlands, Texas. The Senior Claims Desk Adjuster position reports to the Claims Manager and is responsible for the investigation, adjustment, and resolution of complex residential property claims, including large losses, litigated matters, appraisal files, and claims involving complex coverage issues. This position serves as a technical resource within the Claims Department, providing guidance and support to adjusters while ensuring claims are handled in accordance with company standards, policy provisions, and applicable regulations.

Essential Job Functions

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex residential property claims.

• Independently handle large loss, litigated, appraisal, catastrophe, and high-exposure claims.

• Analyze and interpret policy language to make accurate coverage determinations and communicate coverage decisions effectively.

• Review estimates, scopes of damage, invoices, and supporting documentation to establish claim value and ensure accurate settlement.

• Utilize Xactimate and other estimating platforms to produce, review, and validate estimates of covered damages.

• Manage claim files with elevated authority limits while adhering to company guidelines and escalation protocols.

• Coordinate inspections, engineers, consultants, attorneys, restoration vendors, and other experts as needed.

• Conduct thorough claim investigations involving causation disputes, multiple coverages, fraud indicators, and complex fact patterns.

• Document claim files thoroughly and maintain accurate claim records.

• Mentor and assist Claims Desk Adjusters and Claims Support Specialists regarding technical claim handling, investigation techniques, policy interpretation, and best practices.

• Assist leadership with quality assurance reviews, file audits, and training initiatives.

• Identify trends, coverage concerns, and operational opportunities to improve claim outcomes and customer experience.

• Respond timely to customer, agent, attorney, public adjuster, and vendor inquiries.

• Support catastrophe response efforts and assist with surge claim volumes as needed.

• Adhere to company policies, state and federal regulations, and industry best practices.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-10 years of residential property claims adjusting experience.

• Demonstrated experience handling large-loss, complex, litigated, and appraisal claims.

• Active Texas Adjuster's License required; additional state licenses preferred.

• Advanced proficiency with Xactimate estimating software.

• Strong understanding of homeowners policy forms, endorsements, and coverage interpretation.

• Experience working with engineers, consultants, attorneys, contractors, public adjusters, and restoration vendors.

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, investigation, and decision-making skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple complex files while maintaining quality and service standards.

• Self-motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Attend mediations, examinations under oath, settlement conferences, litigation

proceedings, and trainings as required.

• Must possess a valid driver's license.

• May be required to conduct field inspections and site visits as business needs dictate.

• Must be available to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, during

catastrophe events.

• Ability to travel as needed for claim investigations, training, and catastrophe response.
