Position Summary The Full Stack Java Developer – The CSMS Program is responsible for developing, maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the Comprehensive Servicing and Monitoring System, a long-standing HUD accounting and servicing application. This role requires a developer who can work across the full application stack, understand complex business logic, resolve defects, implement enhancements, support releases, and collaborate closely with product ownership, QA, database, configuration management, infrastructure, and security teams. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise Java web applications using Java, JSF, PrimeFaces, and related technologies. Develop and maintain backend business logic using Java EE / Jakarta EE frameworks and enterprise application patterns. Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database-backed business workflows. Develop, consume, and support RESTful web services and APIs. Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, and implement stable defect resolutions. Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, sprint planning, and release activities. Collaborate with Product Owners, QA analysts, DBAs, infrastructure teams, and security teams to deliver production-quality software. Support regression testing, data validation, release readiness, and post-deployment verification. Assist with build, deployment, and configuration management activities. Maintain technical documentation, implementation notes, and deployment procedures. Ensure compliance with federal security, accessibility, and operational standards. Contribute to modernization initiatives, technical debt reduction, and long-term application maintainability. Qualifications Experience Requirements 5+ years of professional software development experience. Strong experience developing enterprise Java web applications. Hands-on experience with Java, Java EE / Jakarta EE, JSF, and PrimeFaces. Strong SQL and relational database experience. Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and web services. Experience troubleshooting and resolving production defects in enterprise applications. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in Agile or collaborative development environments. Ability to work effectively with QA teams, DBAs, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Constantly operates a computer and uses other standard office equipment such as a phone, calculator, photocopier, and computer printer Facility to see and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without visual aids Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 15 pounds This role is Hybrid/Remote-friendly – Silver Spring, MD 20904 Technical Environment The developer should be comfortable working in an environment involving many/any of: WildFly / JBoss HTML / CSS XML / JSON SQL Relational databases Web services / REST APIs Hibernate / Spring Boot / Spring MVC Security, compliance, and review processes Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). U.S. Citizenship is necessary due to federal contract requirements Salary Range Salary Range: $110,000 - $137,000 annually with significant performance-based bonus potential.
