We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with exposure in tax preparation and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities, assisting with month-end close processes, and supporting federal, state, and local tax preparation and filings. This role requires strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and proficiency with accounting software.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Record daily financial transactions and journal entries.
• Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain financial reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare and organize documentation for tax filings and audits.
• Support preparation of corporate, partnership, sales tax, payroll tax, and other tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Process payroll and reconcile payroll-related accounts when required.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate financial records.
• Collaborate with CPAs, tax advisors, and external auditors.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of bookkeeping experience.
• Understanding of tax preparation, tax filings, and tax compliance activities.
• Strong understanding of General Ledger, Journal Entries, Bank Reconciliations, and Financial Reporting.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, Xero, or similar ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
