High School Computer Science Teacher

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Computer Science teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching engaging Computer Science lessons to our High School students. The teacher must demonstrate a deep knowledge of Scripture and Computer Science, teaching from a Biblical perspective and ministering to students. Responsibilities include teaching Cyber Security, Aerospace – Flight & Systems, Introduction to Computer Programming, with potential for AP Computer Science and Robotics, depending on qualifications. Role and Responsibilities Teach Computer Science curriculum and connect Biblical truth to students' lives. Demonstrate passion for ministering through teaching, counseling, encouragement, and mentoring. Use best practices to deliver assigned subjects/grades following prescribed scope and sequence. Promote student engagement to inspire and encourage progress. Maintain a healthy learning environment through appropriate enforcement of behavior rules. Document learning accomplishments, attendance, incidents, and behavior as required. Develop and adjust course syllabi, outlines, and objectives to meet curriculum guidelines and student assessment data. Participate in professional development workshops provided by Valley Christian Schools. Communicate openly and respectfully with students, families, co‑workers, and supervisors. Adhere to Valley Christian Schools standards, policies, and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills Personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is a consistent testimony. Uphold Valley Christian’s Mission & Beliefs and attend a local church in agreement with our faith. Attain ACSI Standard Certification within one year of employment. Maintain a valid Level One IVP fingerprint card. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Initiative, sound judgment, and discretion in varying conditions. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college is required. Master's Degree and 3+ years teaching experience is preferred. Physical Requirements Use a computer for long periods of time. Remain stationary (sitting or standing) 50% of the time. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally stoop, bend, turn, push, pull, reach, and climb stairs (2‑story). Use hands, fingers, and arms to reach, grip, and maneuver objects. Respond quickly to emergency alarms. Work in a noisy and crowded school environment, including weekends and evenings as needed. Walk frequently throughout campus.
