Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric to geriatric demographics, utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational methods.
- Formulate tailored treatment plans that effectively address both immediate goals and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy focused on communication, language intricacies, fluency enhancement, vocal support, and swallowing safety.
- Collaborate seamlessly with fellow healthcare professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to develop and implement effective care strategies.
- Educate patients and their families to reinforce progress beyond the therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure the continuum of care throughout the patient journey.
- Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Engage regularly in continuous education and peer collaborations to remain at the forefront of the field.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
