Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a cancer hospital setting requiring CNOR certification and expertise in oncology surgical procedures.

Job Details

• Cancer hospital Operating Room setting,
• Day/evening rotating schedule combining 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts to total 40 hours per week,
• Shift options include 06:30-17:00, 06:30-19:00, and 10:30-20:30,
• Call required as needed, including evening (1500-2300), night (2300-0700), and weekend (0700-1900, 1900-0700) shifts,
• Weekend coverage required as needed,
• Staff typically sign up for call during a 2-3 out of 4-week schedule period,
• EPIC EMR experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• BLS certification required,
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred,
• Prior oncology experience required,
• Circulate and scrub experience preferred,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Experience with surgical specialties including neuro, thoracic, ENT, ortho, general surgery, plastics, urology, GU/GYN, free flaps, and robotics (Da Vinci) preferred, rated 3-4 skill level,
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program,
• Previous travel experience required,
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted,

Additional Information

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced, day/evening rotating OR schedule,
• Assist with circulating and scrubbing duties as needed for a variety of surgical specialties,
• Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC,
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal surgical outcomes,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate,
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility,
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel positions,
• RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less,
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
