POSITION OVERVIEW
This role requires strong ownership of end-to-end database solutions including design, development, deployment, and production support in a regulated and audit-compliant environment.
s a Senior SQL Developer, this person will perform the following tasks, but not limited to:
1. Lead application development and production support for multiple large-scale enterprise systems
2. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of production issues and implement permanent fixes to improve system stability
3. Troubleshoot Mid-tier MS SQL Server online and batch processing issues, ensuring SLA adherence
4. Evaluate and optimize daily and monthly batch processes to improve performance and reduce critical path execution time
5. Design, develop, and implement database solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability
6. Perform impact analysis across multiple platforms and applications, ensuring downstream dependencies are understood
7. Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and control mechanisms are in place for all critical data processes
8. Deliver complete and audit-compliant documentation for estimates, design, development, and testing artifacts
9. Automate monitoring, alerting, and operational processes to improve system reliability
10. Participate in on-call production support during off-office hours (night and weekend) and handle incidents based on defined SLAs
11. Follow and enforce change management, release, and SOX/audit compliance processes



WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
1. Codes, designs, and performs unit, integration, and performance testing to ensure scalable and efficient execution aligned with business and technical requirements
2. Codes, tests, and debugs new software or makes enhancements to existing software
3. Develops and reviews programs and database objects based on business requirements and technical design specifications
4. Develops technical documentation
5. Resolves in a timely manner problems that arise with existing production applications to ensure the efficient and proper functioning of application components
6. Designs and implements scalable database structures, including data models (OLTP and dimensional models)
7. Collaborates with technical staff to learn and understand software problems
8. Generates a variety of complex and periodic reports and/or data through database management, data administration and data extraction techniques
9. Provides general system users and management with system analysis and feedback
10. Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements
11. Performs advanced SQL performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis
12. Mentors and coaches less experienced staff
13. Maximizes the efficiency of the various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing and auditing new software programs
14. Conducts code reviews and enforces development standards and best practices across the team
15. Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in-house personnel to diagnose and fix operational difficulty, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions
16. Follows established configuration/change control processes
17. Collaborates with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated deployment processes
Ensures all development activities comply with audit, security, and regulatory requirements



WHAT'S NEEDED
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including T-SQL, SSIS, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and indexing strategies
• Experience in Automotive Finance industry preferred
• Strong understanding of auto finance lifecycle (loan origination, servicing, collections, accounting, end-of-term processing, and regulatory processes)
• Familiarity with test practices and deliverables for unit testing
• Self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across business and technical teams
• Ability to handle high-pressure production incidents and drive resolution to closure
• Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy, auditability, and documentation
• Knowledge of Salesforce Service & Marketing cloud platform is preferred
• Experience in working in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Strong expertise in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and database design
• Experience with batch processing systems and performance optimization of large data volumes
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with data modeling (OLTP and Data Warehouse concepts)
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7-10+ years of experience in SQL development and database engineering
• Proven experience working in large-scale, high-volume transactional systems
• Experience handling production support and incident management in enterprise environments



Required Skills:
• 10+ years of hands-on SQL development experience in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise in T-SQL programming and performance tuning
• Experience supporting production systems with SLA-driven support models
• Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:
• Experience in the Automotive Finance industry
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Experience with reporting tools (SSRS, Power BI)
